Black Canyon

I made it down to the Black Canyon for some early spring fishing this week. This was my first trip there since last fall and I was really looking forward to it. There was a good BWO hatch and the fish were feeding steadily on nymphs, emergers, and duns. The rainbows there are absolutely beautiful. They are in the early stages of gearing up to spawn right now, and that should kick in during May. They are not on the redds yet and seem to be feeding constantly, so it’s a great time to get down there to fish. The weather was perfect and the fishing was excellent.
