Early Winter Fishing

It’s been getting cold here in the Gunnison Valley, and we’ve already had a low temperature of 16 below zero earlier this week. The rivers are icing up and it’s time to hunker down for the long winter. Fishing has slowed down some, but it’s been good overall. I landed two fish over 20 inches last week, which is not too shabby. Yesterday, I fished up in the Taylor Canyon and caught several fish in just a couple of hours in the afternoon, including this nice 19-inch brown trout pictured here.
