I was really looking forward to a Fall Fish Camp. The fishing can be slow, but the fall colors (and lack of crowds) make up for it. The water levels were really low, but a rain storm came through the second day. The rivers weren't even fishable after that for a day or so, and the fishing was slow for the rest of the week. But I found places to fish every day and only had one day all week without a fish. By mid-week or so, the weather and the water levels were just right. The fish just weren't active. There were no crowds to deal with and the scenery was great, so this made up for the lack of fish. It really is a great time of year to fish in the Catskills. Jimmer came up later in the week, and Risty came up on the weekend. We fished the West Branch and the East Branch of the Delaware earlier in the week, and then we fished the Beaverkill and the Willowemoc toward the end of the week. There were small olives, Isos and lots of caddis around, but the fish just weren't rising to anything. By the end of the week the water levels were back down, and the fishing pretty much died. But it was still a great week with a few fish and lots of fun as usual.
